4th January

It has dawned another cold bright day, I'll get out there soon.

I ended up spending time updating the www.bangorhs.org web site, that took until lunchtime, including emailing the membership.

After lunch I went out into the garden again and I have now finished lifting the raspberry canes. The bed where they were will become raised bed for growing vegetables.

The raspberry canes have now been transplanted into the netted area. 3 rows of 3 canes now in the ground and finished with Strulch. I will make paths between them to prevent them becoming weed bound.

I went into the potting shed and made up some new meconopsis labels and replaced the ones that were wrongly labelled.

I finished off by gathering up the remainder of the autumn leaf fall from the driveway and putting them into the leaf compost bin.

Jobs for the future, the Fig tree and the rest of the Chrysanthemums.

  1. This blog is a great idea. I didn’t get a chance to come over to your garden before Christmas due to all sorts of goings on and now we are locked down!! Still in the meantime I can follow along with what is happening in your garden. I covered everywhere with stulch and not only will it help the soil structure and reduce snails and slogs but also it looks very nice. I’m delighted with it!! Thanks for organising the large scale delivery - it meant that it was affordable. Cheers Susan
